The route in detail
Days 1–3
Hanoi
Settle into the Old Quarter, eat your way through its street kitchens with a local guide, and take an evening cyclo ride around Hoan Kiem Lake.
Days 4–5
Ha Long Bay
An overnight cruise among two thousand limestone islets. Kayak into hidden lagoons and wake to sunrise on deck.
Days 6–7
Hue
The imperial citadel and royal tombs by bicycle, and a dragon-boat drift down the Perfume River.
Day 8
Danang
Over the Hai Van Pass by jeep, one of Asia's great coastal drives, with an afternoon on My Khe beach.
Days 9–11
Hoi An
Lantern-lit old town evenings, a cooking class in the herb gardens of Tra Que, and a tailor visit if you fancy.

Saigon
