The route in detail
Day 1
Arrival Siem Reap
Arrive into Siem Reap, where an English-speaking guide will be waiting to welcome you and transfer you to your hotel, around an hour away. Settle in and rest before the trip begins tomorrow. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 2
Golf at a Championship Course
Tee off this morning at one of Cambodia's top golf courses, a championship layout designed for a genuinely challenging round. Play a full 18 holes before returning to your hotel, with the rest of the day free at leisure. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 3
Siem Reap, Ta Prohm and Angkor Wat
Travel by remork this morning to Ta Prohm, the temple made famous by the film Tomb Raider and best known for the trees and vines that have grown over its walls for centuries. Continue to Angkor Wat, the twelfth-century temple built by King Suryavarman II, its intricately carved galleries depicting Hindu myths and more than 2,000 apsara carvings, the product of some thirty years of intensive labour. In the afternoon, visit Bayon, built by the last great king, Jayavarman VII, and take in the lower galleries of carvings depicting scenes of everyday life from the late eleventh century. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 4
Village Life and Local Artisans
Spend the morning in Ta Brak village, busiest in the early hours. Walk to the local market to browse colourful displays of vegetables, herbs and other local produce alongside the morning shoppers, then continue through the village for a chance to chat with locals and see daily life up close. Visit a Khmer smokehouse to learn how fish is traditionally smoked, over a glass of fresh coconut juice with the family who run it, before taking part in a Buddhist blessing ceremony, receiving wishes of good luck from local monks. Afterward, visit Satcha, a local enterprise giving Cambodian craftsmen and women a safe space to work and train as artistic entrepreneurs. Return to your hotel, with the rest of the day free at leisure. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 5
Second Round and Spa
Head back to the course this morning for another full round of 18 holes. In the afternoon, unwind with a 60-minute traditional Khmer massage, a combination of acupressure and light stretching performed without oil, before a free evening at leisure. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 6
Departure
Transfer to the airport for your onward flight, bringing your golf getaway in Cambodia to a close.
