The route in detail
Day 1
Arrival in Bali & Ubud
Om Swasti, welcome to Bali. On arrival at Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar, your guide and driver will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel in Ubud. After checking in, relax by the pool before a briefing with your guide, assembling the bikes and preparing for the days of riding ahead. Enjoy a welcome dinner followed by a briefing for the adventure to come. Overnight in Ubud.
Day 2
Ubud to Tanah Lot
Ride up to 70 kilometres with 559 metres of elevation gain, with full vehicle support throughout. The first day is a chance to settle into the roads, heat and humidity of the island, with mostly easy, gentle ups and downs through beautiful, remote villages set among rice fields and small temples. Ride through rice paddies on the outskirts of Ubud, continuing through the magnificent Taman Ayun Temple in Mengwi, and finish in Tanah Lot for the first night. After lunch and check-in, visit Tanah Lot itself, one of Bali's most iconic spots, with the option to watch the sunset there before dinner. The lively town of Canggu is a short distance away for those looking for shopping and nightlife. Overnight in Tanah Lot.
Day 3
Tanah Lot to Jatiluwih & Munduk
A hard day in the saddle: ride up to 85 kilometres with 2,235 metres of elevation gain, with the option to stop at Jatiluwih to avoid the toughest climb towards Bedugul. After breakfast, climb to the UNESCO-listed Jatiluwih, the vastest rice terraces in Southeast Asia, where the complexity of the irrigation system makes for a unique and spectacular sight. Stop for lunch overlooking an unforgettable view. Continue with a short but intense climb to Lake Beratan and its temple, Ulun Danu Beratan, one of the most photographed sights in Bali. After a short visit, tackle the last stretch of climbing to a summit with spectacular views over the twin lakes of Tamblingan and Buyan, before descending into Munduk for the night, a town known for its hiking trails and its outstanding natural surroundings. Overnight in Munduk.
Day 4
Munduk to Kintamani
Ride up to 95 kilometres with 1,902 metres of elevation gain. After breakfast and check-out, begin with a careful, technical descent out of Munduk on gradients of up to 20%, before an easier ride down to the north coast. Follow a flat to rolling road along the seaside towards Singaraja, riding through the traffic of Bali's bustling second city, before the day's biggest challenge: a climb up into the Kintamani area via Sembiran village. Overnight in Kintamani.
Day 5
Kintamani to Southern Bali via Pejeng
Ride up to 50 kilometres with 232 metres of elevation gain, a welcome recovery day. After breakfast and check-out, enjoy a gentle descent from the Kintamani area through Pejeng, on the outskirts of Gianyar regency. Transfer to your final hotel on the southern Bali coast, then celebrate the journey with a farewell dinner alongside your guide this evening. Overnight in Southern Bali Beaches.
Day 6
Departure
Enjoy a free morning at leisure after breakfast before transferring to the airport for your onward flight.
