The route in detail
Day 1
Arrival at Bawah Island
Begin the journey in Singapore, the main international gateway to Bawah Island, with a private transfer to the ferry terminal, a short crossing to Batam, and fast-tracked immigration into Indonesia. From Batam, board a private Airfast seaplane for the flight to Bawah Island, taking off on land and landing on water in the lagoon in front of the suites. The main island covers 66 hectares and is surrounded by four smaller islands and a scattering of islets, framing three lagoons; a large mangrove along the third lagoon is home to mudskippers, fish, crabs and birdlife, while the surrounding coral reefs offer excellent snorkeling and diving. Arrive at the resort in the afternoon, refresh and enjoy lunch at one of its restaurants, from the Boat House Bar & Restaurant to the Treetop Clubhouse and the Grouper Beach & Pool Bar, on a full-board basis. Spend the rest of the day at leisure or take up any of the resort's complimentary activities. Overnight at Bawah Island.
Day 2
Bawah Island at Leisure
Settle into island life amid virgin nature, with the day entirely at leisure. Join the resort's complimentary daily group classes of yoga, Pilates and meditation at Aura Wellbeing, set off on a hike, or take up any of the non-motorized water sports on offer, including kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, snorkeling or sailing. A selected wellbeing treatment at Aura Spa is also included, one per person per night. Thirteen beaches, each as if lifted from a castaway film, can be discovered on footpaths through the island's forest and its fascinating wildlife. In the evenings, enjoy open-air cinema, themed nights, stargazing and social games. Overnight at Bawah Island.
Day 3
Bawah Island at Leisure
Enjoy another day at leisure, with plenty of options for activity or rest. The Wallace Library and the Jules Verne Lookout Bar make for a perfect spot for sundowners or a late-night cocktail as the sun sets over the lagoon. Overnight at Bawah Island.
Day 4
Bawah Island Adventure & Leisure
Spend a final full day exploring the forests and lagoons around Bawah Reserve, above, below and beyond the water. Optional excursions can be arranged locally, from hiking rainforest trails and snorkeling among the coral to kayaking out to secluded beaches or joining a batik art class to discover a piece of Indonesian heritage. Alternatively, simply laze away the afternoon at Aura Spa or on a private veranda. Overnight at Bawah Island.
Day 5
Departure
Enjoy a final morning at the resort before checkout. Depart after noon by private seaplane back to Batam, then transfer by car to the ferry terminal for the crossing back to Singapore, where a private car completes the journey home, to a hotel, or to the airport.
